Travelling Bug House

Stirchley Happenings is proud to bring cinema back to the local area in the form of the Travelling Bug House: so called because we move around Stirchley showing  films in different spaces, and because the nick-name for the Empire Theatre, which used to operate in the building on the Pershore Road which is now occupied by Enterprise Rent-A-Car, was the “Bug House”.

Our last event was a Balti and Blockbuster spectacular, which was held at Balti Cottage on Thursday 21 July 2011. The featured film was Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark: exciting fare to accompany equally delicious food.

We’d love to hear your suggestions of which genre of film you would like to see. If you have ideas for specific movies then feel free to share those too. And, of course, we’re always on the lookout for new venues, so if you can think of an unusual or underused space that would benefit from some motion picture magic, then let us know! You can leave a comment on this page or email us at stirchleyhappenings@yahoo.co.uk

Visit our Archive page to see which films we’ve shown already.
